Watershed Committee

Area Draining to LSLThe Purpose

The purpose of the committee is to work for and with the Little Sebago Lake Association through its board of directors to design and implement programs to improve our lake’s water quality concerning the watershed. Specifically, the Watershed Committee will maintain and support a robust LakeSmart program, maintain communications with and support road associations, and work with governmental and Not-For-Profits that serve our lake’s watershed to identify and remediate erosion issues within the Little Sebago Lake Watershed.

Best Practices to be LakeSmart!

lakesmart-award-winnerThis committee is extremely valuable for the lake’s health as it helps waterfront owners to properly create landscaping that will keep harmful substances from leeching into the lake which can lead to undesirable effects, such as algae. The members will recommend best practices to help control the erosion of soil along with its chemicals. Those enrolling in the LakeSmart program to help protect the lake are awarded with certificates to proudly display.
