Public Boat Launch
Public Boat Launch
Location and Facilities
Little Sebago Lake has one public boat launch located at 101 Mount Hunger Shore Road in Windham that is owned and maintained by the State. The launch opened in 1987 after the State purchased the property the prior year. The launch has limited parking that can safely accommodate up to 11 vehicles with trailers (one space designated for handicapped parking only), and 4 extra spaces for driveway side parking. The launch is located on a narrow private gravel road posted for no parking. There is a dock next to the ramp to aid those launching and retrieving their watercraft.
For the summer boating season, the Association schedules an accessible portable restroom that is installed and maintained at the boat launch for those without facilities on their boats.
2014 Ramp Reconstruction
In 2014, the State rebuilt the ramp with new concrete planks and a floating dock secured to a concrete header. The launch was closed in early October and finished in early November. To accommodate the State’s workers, the LSL Association agreed to open the dam early that year in September to help bring down the level of the lake, making it easier for the work to be done on the new ramp.
Courtesy Boat Inspections and Amenities
From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Association has Courtesy Boat Inspectors stationed at the launch looking for invasive plants attached to boats coming into and out of the lake. They also help educate newcomers about the lake.
