YCC Starting Soon!  News Story
Thursday, April 27, 2006

The Little Sebago Lake Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) will be starting soon. A YCC is a group of high school-aged youth led by a college-aged crew leader who are hired to correct erosion problems around Little Sebago Lake. The best part of the program is that the services of the YCC are FREE, all you have to do is provide the materials! Please keep in mind that the YCC crew members are not allowed to use power tools or machinery.

The crew will be working from July 5th through August 17th. If you’re interested in having the YCC fix erosion problems on your property, call Jami Fitch at the Cumberland County Soil and Water Conservation District at 892-4700.

We’re also looking for donations to help get us started. There is a list below. Because the Little Sebago Lake Association is a 501c(3) non profit, your donation of tools, materials or money will be tax deductible! Below is the YCC “wish list.” Please contact Jami Fitch (892-4700) if you would like to contribute.

. Trailer & hitch (donate for July and August or
permanently)
. Use of pick-up truck (July-August)
