Treasurer?s Report: Sharon Lamontagne

Treasurer?s Report and Financial Report:  Sharon Lamontagne & Colin Walsh
(Reports available on-line & in hard copy)
Presentation raised a few questions to clarify specific items in the reports which was done by Colin & Sharon as well as the following:
                                 Question/answer
What is the number of contributors/approximately 50% of 1200 potential?
Have we considered establishing an endowment/plan to pursue and welcome more input
Do we get state or government funding/receive a small amount & are continually searching for additional resources.

Colin Walsh-Assessments

Budget for 2007 pretty accurate. We take stewardship of member donations seriously. Grant money hasn?t come from sources we expected; we could use a part-time grant writer. There is a lot of back-office work, not in the trenches with milfoil. Dues have been kept to $25, we are asking an additional $175 per member to help cover costs in the next 3 years. Our boats are unique, we are doing proactive work, providing ideal for other organizations.

Comment: (Kaile Warren) Town of Windham could hire a grant writer for water quality issues. We could show support from this body.

Question: Why is only 4 camps? worth of money coming back to the lake? Kaile: Optimistic about turning the Windham Council around. Best chance at getting money is in looking at critical needs.

Question: What is total tax revenue from lake?

Comment: Lyon?s Point dues $175, we should look to increasing LSLA dues.
